CREATIVE FACILITATION

I design and lead creative workshops for schools, organisations, and community groups. Each session is built around accessibility, reflection, and care; using art as a tool for thinking, learning, and wellbeing.

My facilitation blends structure with intuition, play with insight, and evaluation with tenderness. I specialise in helping groups see differently, connect authentically, and leave with new perspectives.

Example Projects

  • Southmead Development Trust

I spent 6 weeks co-facilitating youth sessions at Southmead Adventure Playground. The sessions aimed to engage with the young people around Green Skills and creative futures. Through play-based activities and discussion, we were able to collaborate with the young people to design and plan a creative brief to share our ideas. At the end of the 6 weeks, we commissioned a filmmaker to document the Green Skills that are already being displayed at The Ranch.

  • Neon Daisy

Through an intensive 12 week art club, I supported 4 neurodivergent young girls and non-binary young people to attend a creative club aimed to help them through navigating the mainstream education system. Many of them had low attendance or were unable to access school at all, meaning that art club became the highlight of their week. One of my favourite aspects of this project was being able to curate packages of goodies to send to the young people. As part of one of their packages, I made a custom Zine.

  • DK-CM / Bristol City Council / Rising Arts Agency

In collaboration with Rising Arts Agency and Bristol City Council, I was commissioned to design, plan and facilitate a workshop with my local community to consult the council on their plans to rejuvenate the harbour. I hosted an event called ‘Feast for Change’ at my local community centre that orientated around sharing stories and of course, eating! Once the workshop was complete, I made a creative response in the form of a thematic map to document and share the learnings. Read the report here.

Ella Tainton / Southmead Development Trust

“Working with Lay was a real joy. She took coming into the much-loved chaos of our youth sessions at The Ranch in her stride. Her design and facilitation of sessions were flexible and responsive. Total five stars would work with again.”

Sid Boyer / Rising Arts Agency

“Ellayah centres access, care, justice and kindness in all her work. She meets attendees where they’re at and is dedicated to ensuring all voices are heard.”
